Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan’s Master Plan

Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation (MSR) is a special place. For over nine decades, Scouts have been making a yearly pilgrimage to the Northwoods of Wisconsin to experience its magic and form everlasting memories at our camp. Thousands of Scouts have hiked the forested paths, earned merit badges, eaten in our dining halls, lived amongst nature, and learned countless life skills on our 1500+ acre property. In 2019, a devastating storm hit the area around MSR, fundamentally altering the landscape. Our property was struck hard, but little damage was done to the most important part of camp: our Scouts.

A generous outpouring of support from the Scouting community and its friends enabled Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan to rebuild for the 2021 season and start planning for the next 100 years. A special task force, the MSR 100 group, was established to develop a master plan and strategic plan to carry Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan into its second century of providing life-long memories and skills to future generations of Scouts.

This Master Plan was developed with input from the many facets of the Scouting community that supports and attends Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan.
